Implement Automated Exploratory Testing and Accessibility Testing in Your Android App Without Test Cases!

Have you ever been frustrated by tiny “x” buttons on apps, text that’s hard to read because it blends into the background, or other user-unfriendly UI elements on your Android smartphone? Accessibility testing is crucial for creating apps that are easy for everyone to use. We have set up an environment to conduct these tests internally using an automated crawler called Jetpack App Crawler, eliminating the need for external cloud services.

During the event, We will be speaking about the following topics. We hope you’ll join us!

  • An overview and purpose of exploratory and accessibility testing
  • How to run Jetpack App Crawler and interpret its output
  • Providing a web frontend to visualize the test results

The other day, I rode a bus in Ibaraki that was equipped with a V8 engine. Riding in a V8 almost makes me think I could be considered an American. But as long as I'm not an American, I guess I'll stick to my job developing "Yahoo! JAPAN Maps" and solving company-wide problems as part of the App Working Group (WG).

I'm a frontend engineer who started playing around with C and Python back when I was a student. I joined Yahoo Japan Corporation as a new grad in 2022, and now I mainly work with TypeScript. I'm part of the SWAT team, a cross-company engineering group that helps solve technical challenges for high-priority and urgent internal projects. I also work with the App Working Group team. I live in Kansai, and I'm planning to hit up EXPO2025 a ton!
